TutorTech Terms of Service
Updated: 2nd May 2026
Version: v2.2
Important information about using our services
Please take the time to read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the Tutortech website, learning platform, and other services we offer (together, the "Services").
By using our Services, you agree to these Terms, including the dispute resolution process described below.
Who we are:
Tutortech Ltd. ("Tutortech", "we", or "us") is a private company registered in England and Wales under the Companies Act 2006.
What this means for you:
If you don't agree to these Terms in their entirety, you can't use our Services.
1. General Information
1.1 About these Terms
This section explains the rules for using our website (including https://www.tutortech.co.uk), The Toddle Learner Management Platform, mobile apps, and other services (together, the "Tutortech Platform").
By using our Services, you agree to these Terms. This includes our other policies, like our Data Privacy Policy and Refund and Payment Policy, which you can find in our Policy Centre. Users must be 18 or older to agree to the Terms.
1.2 Who can use our Services
There are different ways to use the Tutortech Platform:
- Students: You can use our platform to take online classes and tutoring lessons.
- Customers: You can find tutors and manage your child's access to learning tools on our platform.
- Tutors: You can provide online tutoring lessons through our platform.
- Affiliates: You can help people find tutors and achieve their learning goals on our platform.
- Visitors: You can browse our website, including the Tutortech Blog.
- Marketplace Buyers: Customers and approved Tutors may purchase digital educational content through the TutorTech Marketplace, subject to account type, access permissions and content availability.
- Marketplace Sellers: Only approved Tutors who have completed Tutor onboarding, accepted the Tutor Agreement, connected a valid Stripe Connect account, and accepted the Marketplace Terms may create, upload, list and sell digital educational content through the TutorTech Marketplace.
TutorTech may provide private microsite access routes or organisation-referenced pages for schools, sports academies, SEND providers or similar organisations. These are designed to help Students and Parents/Guardians find relevant TutorTech classes, tutoring services, learning support or educational content. Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, these arrangements do not create a legal partnership, commercial partnership, joint venture, agency relationship, franchise, endorsement, sponsorship or revenue-sharing arrangement between TutorTech and the relevant organisation.
What we offer:
The Tutortech Platform connects Students with Tutors for online lessons. We also provide tools for Customers to manage their accounts and payments.
Tutors must complete a verification process before they can provide tutoring services to students on the Tutortech Platform.
Types of Tutoring Services on Tutortech
Tutortech provides access to different types of tutoring services through its platform:
a) One-to-One Private Tuition Services (Independent Tutors)
One-to-one private tuition services are provided by independent Tutors who use the Tutortech platform to offer their services directly to Customers.
In these cases:
- The Tutor is the supplier of the tutoring services.
- Tutors set their own prices, availability, and service details.
- Tutoring fees are charged by the Tutor and paid directly to the Tutor via the platform.
- Tutortech charges a separate platform service fee for providing marketplace, administrative, and payment facilitation services.
- VAT is not charged on Tutor fees unless the Tutor is legally required to do so.
- VAT may be applied to Tutortech’s platform service fee, where applicable.
Tutortech does not provide the tutoring services and is not a party to the tutoring contract between the Tutor and the Customer.
b) Classes (Tutortech provided Services)
Certain group classes (“Classes”) are provided by Tutortech using independent tutoring contractors.
In these cases:
- Tutortech is the supplier of the Classes to Customers.
- Tutortech sets pricing, schedules, and service terms.
- VAT is charged by Tutortech where applicable.
- Tutors delivering Classes act as independent contractors engaged by Tutortech.
The TutorTech Platform may also include a digital educational content marketplace (“Marketplace”). The Marketplace enables approved Tutors to create, upload, list and sell educational resources to eligible users, including Customers and other Tutors.
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, Tutor-created Marketplace content is created and supplied by the Tutor seller, not by TutorTech. TutorTech provides the platform, hosting, payment facilitation, marketplace tools, administrative support, moderation tools and access controls.
Important things to note:
- We don't directly provide tutoring services. Tutors set their own course content for each lesson, following the appropriate curriculum framework.
- To use our services, you will need your own internet connection and device.
- We may change or suspend our services at any time.
- Our platform may be unavailable sometimes due to maintenance or technical issues.
- We may offer third-party services or our own new features in the future.
1.3 Keeping these Terms Up-to-Date
We may change these Terms from time to time. We'll let you know by posting the updated version on our website and the Tutortech Platform. If we make significant changes, we'll also notify you by email.
You can always check this page for the latest version.
If you don't agree to the changes, you can stop using our Services and close your account.
By continuing to use our Services after the Terms are updated, you agree to the new terms.
2. Your Obligations
This section covers what's expected of you when using our Services.
2.1 Who can use our Services
- You must be 18 or older to use our Services on your own.
- The minimum age limit for independent user accounts (Customer, Affiliate, Tutor) is 18 years old.
- Users under 18 but at least 7 years old can use our Services with a parent or guardian's permission. The parent or guardian is responsible for their child's activity on the platform.
- In accordance with UK guidance, children under 13 using our services must be supervised by a parent or guardian.
- When a parent or guardian purchases a course or events (classes) within a course for a student under 18 years old, they are providing permission to create a Student account within the Toddle Learner Management System. The parent or guardian may view the Student’s progress via a Family Invite Code to the Learner Management System.
- The parent or guardian is responsible for invitations and management of persons who have access to view the Student’s progress via the Family Invite Code.
- We don't allow anyone under 7 to use our Services.
2.2 Verification for Tutors
- To become a Tutor on our platform, you may need to provide:
- Government ID (like a passport or driver's license)
- Proof of your education (diplomas or certificates)
- We'll use this information to verify your identity and qualifications.
- We may also use third-party services to check your background, like a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check (applicable regions only).
- For Tutors in the UK: A DBS check is mandatory to verify your identity and suitability to work with children.
- Important: We can't guarantee that every user is who they say they are. Always be cautious and use common sense when interacting with others online, just like you would in person. We are not responsible for any user's behaviour.
2.3 Background Checks
- We may use third-party services to run background checks on users, including Tutors and Affiliates.
- This may involve criminal background checks, sex offender registry checks, and more.
- We rely on the information provided by these services, but we don't verify it ourselves.
- You agree that we can use this information to decide whether to suspend or terminate your account.
- If a background check report has any errors, you should contact the third-party service directly.
2.4 Privacy
- You can browse our website without providing any personal information.
- If you use certain features, we may ask you for your personal data.
- To learn how we handle your information, please read our Data Privacy Policy.
2.5 Payments
- We use secure third-party payment processors to handle payments on our platform.
- These include Stripe, Revolut, and Natwest Bank.
- Other third-party processors may be used as required.
- This allows us to:
- Collect payments from Customers.
- Pay Tutors for their services.
- Pay Affiliates for their referrals.
- Depending on the type of service booked, payments may relate to tutoring services provided by independent Tutors or to Classes provided by Tutortech, together with any applicable platform service fees.
- For more details on payments and refunds, please see our Payment and Cancellation Policy.
- Our Data Privacy Policy explains how we protect your payment information.
Payments processed through the TutorTech Platform may relate to:
· one-to-one tutoring services provided by independent Tutors;
· Classes provided by TutorTech using independent tutoring contractors;
· Marketplace digital content created and sold by approved Tutors;
· platform service fees;
· subscriptions;
· referral or affiliate arrangements; and
· any other charges displayed before purchase.
Where Marketplace content is sold by a Tutor, the Tutor is the seller of that content unless TutorTech expressly states otherwise. TutorTech may deduct a platform service fee and any applicable charges before funds are paid to the Tutor through Stripe Connect.
2.6 Refunds
- We want to be clear about how refunds work for Students, Tutors, and Affiliates.
- Please see our Payment and Cancellation Policy for details on refund conditions.
- Ultimately, any refund decisions are at our discretion and within the limits of the law.

3.11 TutorTech Marketplace
TutorTech may provide access to a Marketplace where approved Tutors can create, upload, list and sell digital educational content to eligible users.
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, Tutor-created Marketplace content is created and supplied by the Tutor seller, not by TutorTech. TutorTech provides the platform, hosting, payment facilitation, marketplace tools, administrative support and moderation functions.
Only approved Tutors who have completed onboarding, accepted the Tutor Agreement, connected a valid Stripe Connect account, and accepted the Marketplace Terms may sell Marketplace content.
Customers and approved Tutors may purchase Marketplace content depending on account type, access permissions and content availability.
Marketplace purchases are licensed, not sold outright. Buyers receive only the usage rights described in the Marketplace Terms, the Copyright / IP Policy, and any applicable Digital Content Licence terms.
TutorTech may review, remove, suspend, restrict or disable Marketplace content where required for legal, safeguarding, intellectual property, quality, payment, platform or reputational reasons.
TutorTech does not guarantee that Tutor-created Marketplace content will meet a particular learning outcome, school requirement, exam board specification, qualification requirement or educational need unless TutorTech expressly states otherwise.
4. Our Content
This section explains what you can do with content owned, created, licensed or provided by TutorTech, including text, images, videos, learning materials, website content, platform content, branding, software, design, layouts, documents, course materials and other materials made available by TutorTech (“TutorTech Content”).
TutorTech Content does not include original content created and uploaded by Tutors or other users, except where that content has been specifically created for TutorTech or transferred/licensed to TutorTech under a separate agreement.
What you can do
You may access and use TutorTech Content for your own personal, educational or platform-related use, as permitted by these Terms.
You may download, print or copy TutorTech Content only where this is made available through the platform and only for your own permitted use.
What you cannot do
Unless TutorTech gives you written permission, you must not:
- share TutorTech Content with others outside the platform;
- copy, reproduce or republish TutorTech Content for commercial use;
- sell, resell, license or distribute TutorTech Content;
- modify, adapt or create derivative works from TutorTech Content;
- remove copyright notices, trade marks or other legal notices;
- scrape, extract or use TutorTech Content to build competing products, services, databases, AI models or marketplaces;
- use TutorTech Content in a way that is unlawful, misleading or damaging to TutorTech.
Ownership

Using the TutorTech platform does not give you ownership of any TutorTech Content. You receive only the limited right to use TutorTech Content as allowed by these Terms.
Marketplace content
Tutor-created Marketplace content is not treated as TutorTech Content unless TutorTech expressly states otherwise.
Tutor-created Marketplace content is owned by the Tutor seller or relevant rights holder, subject to any third-party rights.
When you purchase or access Marketplace content, you receive a licence to use that content in accordance with the Marketplace Terms, Copyright / IP Policy and any licence terms displayed at purchase. Purchasing or accessing Marketplace content does not transfer ownership of that content to you.
Changes to TutorTech Content
TutorTech may change, update, remove or replace TutorTech Content at any time.
5. Your Content and Marketplace Content
This section explains what happens to content you upload, create, post, list, sell, submit or otherwise make available through the TutorTech platform (“User-Generated Content”).
User-Generated Content may include, for example:
- Tutor profile content;
- profile photos and introduction videos;
- service descriptions;
- availability information;
- messages;
- reviews and ratings;
- comments;
- uploaded documents;
- lesson materials;
- Marketplace listings;
- Marketplace digital resources;

- images, videos, audio files or other uploaded materials.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for all User-Generated Content you upload, post, list, sell, submit or make available through TutorTech.
You must ensure that your User-Generated Content is accurate, lawful, appropriate and not misleading.
Where you upload, list or sell Marketplace content, you are responsible for ensuring that the content is suitable for the stated subject, age group, learning purpose and intended audience.
Ownership of your content
You retain ownership of original content you create and upload to TutorTech, subject to any third-party rights.
This means that, where you create original Marketplace content, you continue to own that content unless you have transferred ownership to someone else or created it under a separate agreement that says otherwise.
However, uploading, posting, listing or selling content through TutorTech gives TutorTech the rights needed to operate the platform and Marketplace, as described below.
Licence you grant to TutorTech
By uploading, posting, listing, selling or otherwise making User-Generated Content available through TutorTech, you grant TutorTech a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use that content as needed to operate, provide, protect, promote and improve the TutorTech platform and Marketplace.
This licence includes the right for TutorTech to:
- host, store and back up the content;
- display the content on the platform;
- reproduce the content for technical and operational purposes;
- process the content for platform functionality, security, moderation, support and analytics;
- create previews, thumbnails, summaries or listing information;
- make Marketplace content available to buyers who purchase or access it;
- promote Marketplace listings or Tutor profiles on the TutorTech platform and related channels;
- investigate complaints, safeguarding concerns or intellectual property concerns;
- remove, suspend, restrict or disable access to content where required;
- retain records where needed for legal, accounting, tax, safeguarding, dispute resolution, audit or platform integrity purposes.
This licence does not transfer ownership of your original content to TutorTech.
Marketplace content and previous purchases
If you sell Marketplace content, buyers who have purchased or accessed that content may continue to have access to it in accordance with the applicable licence terms, even if you later remove the listing from sale or your Tutor account is suspended, restricted or terminated.
TutorTech may retain copies of Marketplace content where reasonably necessary to:
- support previous purchases;
- process refunds or disputes;
- comply with legal obligations;
- investigate complaints;
- enforce policies;
- maintain records;
- protect platform integrity.
What is not allowed
You must not upload, post, list, sell or share User-Generated Content that:
- infringes copyright, trade marks, design rights, database rights, moral rights or other third-party rights;
- includes content copied from textbooks, paid resources, subscription platforms, exam papers, mark schemes or third-party materials without permission;
- contains unlawful, harmful, unsafe, abusive, discriminatory, exploitative, offensive or inappropriate material;
- is misleading, inaccurate or falsely described;
- makes unsupported claims about learning outcomes, exam success, school alignment, SEND outcomes or qualification results;
- includes personal data without a lawful basis;
- includes confidential information belonging to a Student, Parent/Guardian, Tutor, school, sports academy, SEND provider, organisation or third party;
- breaches safeguarding expectations;
- breaches the Marketplace Terms, Copyright / IP Policy, User Code of Conduct or any other TutorTech policy;
- contains AI-assisted or AI-generated material that is misleading, unsafe, infringing, unsuitable or not disclosed where disclosure is required.
TutorTech’s rights to review and remove content
TutorTech may review, edit, reject, remove, suspend, restrict or disable access to any User-Generated Content where it considers this necessary or appropriate.
This may include where content:
- breaches these Terms or another TutorTech policy;
- creates legal, safeguarding, intellectual property, quality, payment, platform or reputational risk;
- is the subject of a complaint;
- is suspected of infringing third-party rights;
- is misleading, inaccurate or inappropriate;
- may place a child or user at risk;
- may interfere with platform operation or user trust.
TutorTech is not required to pre-screen all User-Generated Content and is not responsible for user content merely because it is made available through the platform.
Reporting copyright or IP concerns
If you believe that content on TutorTech infringes your copyright, trade mark or other intellectual property rights, please contact us at:

15. Copyright and Intellectual Property Complaints
TutorTech’s process for reporting copyright and intellectual property concerns is set out in our Copyright / IP Policy.
That policy applies to all content on the TutorTech platform, including Marketplace content, Tutor profiles, blogs, learning resources, images, videos, documents and other uploaded materials.
