TutorTech Channels, Courses, Resource Hub Terms & Conditions

These Terms explain how TutorTech's Resource Hub, Courses and Channels work for both Customers and Educator Creators.

They replace the previous separate Resource Hub Terms & Conditions and Courses and Channels Terms. They form part of the TutorTech Terms of Service.

Please also read the Payment and Cancellation Policy, Data Privacy Policy, Safeguarding Policy, User Code of Conduct and Copyright and Intellectual Property Policy. Tutors and Educator Creators are also subject to the Tutor Agreement and any Creator commercial terms they accept.

The product page and checkout are important. They show the price, access basis, supplier and any recurring payment terms for the specific Resource, Course or Channel you are buying.

1. A quick guide to Resources, Courses and Channels

Resource

A Resource is educational content available through the TutorTech Resource Hub, such as a worksheet, revision guide, template, study pack or other approved material. It may be downloadable, streamable or available in another stated format.

Course

A Course is a structured educational programme, usually self-paced, which may include video, audio, quizzes, lessons and Resources.

Channel

A Channel is a recurring subscription to a named Educator area. You receive access during the paid subscription period to the content and features described on the Channel listing.

Other useful terms

• ·       Educator / Creator / Tutor seller - an approved TutorTech Tutor whose relevant Creator Features have been enabled.
• ·       Customer - the adult account holder who buys or subscribes through TutorTech.
• ·       Student - the learner who uses or accesses the educational product or content.
• ·       Supplier - the trader identified on the product page and checkout as supplying the Resource, Course or Channel.

2. Who is the supplier?

The supplier can differ by product, so please check the listing and checkout.

• ·       A Tutor-created Resource is normally supplied by the Tutor seller unless the listing says otherwise.
• ·       For a Course or Channel, the supplier is the party identified on the product page and checkout.
• ·       Where an Educator is the supplier, TutorTech may provide the platform, hosting, billing, access administration, moderation, customer support and safeguarding infrastructure.
• ·       Where TutorTech is the supplier, TutorTech is responsible for the Customer contract for that product.

3. Who can create and sell?

Only Tutors who have been approved by TutorTech, completed the required onboarding, accepted the Tutor Agreement and relevant Creator terms, and completed any required payment-provider setup may create, publish or sell Resources, Courses or Channels.

TutorTech may enable, restrict, suspend or remove particular Creator Features where reasonably needed for legal, safeguarding, quality, intellectual-property, platform, payment, regulatory or reputational reasons.

4. Who can buy or subscribe?

The Customer entering into the purchase or subscription contract must be 18 or over.

A Student under 18 accesses the product through the Parent/Guardian or another authorised adult arrangement supported by TutorTech. We may apply age, subject or feature restrictions where appropriate.

Tutors may also be able to buy Resources for permitted lesson preparation or educational use. A TutorTech account may be required before purchase or access.

5. What Creators are responsible for

If you create or sell content through TutorTech, you are responsible for making sure it is suitable, accurate and lawful.

Your content must:

• ·       match the product description and not mislead Customers;
• ·       be suitable for the stated age group, subject, level, curriculum and learning purpose;
• ·       respect copyright, trade marks, database rights, moral rights, design rights and other third-party rights;
• ·       not contain unlawful, harmful, discriminatory, offensive, unsafe or inappropriate material;
• ·       follow TutorTech safeguarding, conduct, education, consumer and advertising requirements;
• ·       not contain personal or confidential information unless its use is lawful, necessary and appropriately protected;
• ·       not be copied, scraped or unlawfully adapted from third-party sources;
• ·       not include unauthorised exam papers, mark schemes, paid resources, licensed resources or subscription-only materials.

Descriptions, release frequencies, live features, access periods and other important promises must also be accurate. If you can no longer meet a material promise, tell TutorTech promptly so that the listing and Customer communications can be corrected.

Creators are responsible for their own tax, VAT, accounting and reporting obligations arising from sales or Creator income. TutorTech does not provide tax, VAT, accounting or legal advice.

6. Listings, prices, fees and payments

The Customer price, access basis, supplier and any recurring charge will be shown before purchase.

Where TutorTech permits it, Tutor sellers may set their own Resource prices. TutorTech may apply pricing rules or restrictions to particular products or features.

Payments are processed through TutorTech's supported payment infrastructure and payment providers. TutorTech may deduct the applicable platform service fee, payment-processing charges where relevant, VAT on TutorTech fees where applicable, refunds, chargebacks or other agreed adjustments from Creator proceeds.

The TutorTech platform fee or Creator revenue share for a product is the rate shown in the Tutor dashboard, seller page, Creator enablement notice or other written commercial terms accepted by the Creator. We may change fees prospectively on reasonable notice, but we will not retrospectively change a fee on a completed transaction.

7. One-off purchases: Resources and Courses

Resource access

When you buy a Resource, you receive the access and licence described on the listing. Access may be by download, in-platform viewing or another stated delivery method.

Course access

A Course listing will tell you whether the Course is a one-off purchase, gives access for a stated period, or is included within an active Channel.

Access begins after successful payment and any required immediate-delivery confirmation. Course content may be updated over time where this does not materially reduce what you bought.

If paid content has to be removed

If a paid Resource or Course is removed for safeguarding, infringement, security or another serious reason and this materially affects your paid access, the supplier will provide any remedy required by law. Depending on the circumstances, this may include replacement access, a price reduction or refund.

Immediate digital delivery and cancellation rights

Resources and Course content may be supplied immediately after purchase. Where the law requires it, TutorTech will obtain your express request for immediate supply and your acknowledgement of the effect on any statutory cancellation right before the content is downloaded, streamed or otherwise supplied during that period.

This does not remove your statutory rights if digital content is faulty, materially not as described, unavailable contrary to the contract or otherwise fails to meet applicable consumer standards.

8. Channel subscriptions

Recurring billing

A Channel subscription renews automatically at the price and billing frequency shown before purchase until you cancel.

Cancel anytime

You can cancel at any time using the method provided in your account or stated at checkout. Unless mandatory law or the checkout says otherwise, cancellation stops the next renewal and your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for.

Once cancellation takes effect, there will be no further recurring charge for that Channel.

What a Channel includes

A Channel gives you access to the content and features listed as included during your active subscription. This may include Courses, Resources, archived content, new releases, comments or scheduled live Q&A.

Content bought separately outside the Channel may have different access rights.

Release commitments

If a Channel listing makes a specific recurring promise, such as new content each week, the supplier should use reasonable care to meet it.

Occasional timing changes may happen because of holidays, illness, safeguarding, technical or editorial reasons. A material or repeated reduction in the promised service may give rise to the remedies required by law.

9. Your licence to use purchased content

A purchase or subscription gives the Customer and Student a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the relevant content for the personal educational purpose and period described at purchase.

It does not transfer ownership or copyright.

Unless a listing expressly allows it, you must not:

• ·       resell, redistribute, repackage or publicly share the content;
• ·       upload the content to another marketplace, website, app, learning platform or shared repository;
• ·       share account access or content outside the permitted household, tutoring, school or educational context described in the listing;
• ·       remove copyright or attribution notices;
• ·       claim ownership or authorship of somebody else's content;
• ·       use the content to create competing products;
• ·       use the content for AI model training, dataset creation or automated scraping unless a separate written licence expressly permits it.

Tutor buyers may use purchased Resources for reasonable lesson preparation and delivery where the listing permits, but they must not resell, republish or present the content as their own.

10. Who owns Creator content and what licence TutorTech receives

Creator ownership

Creator Content remains owned by the Educator, Tutor seller or other rights holder unless a separate written agreement says otherwise.

TutorTech's platform licence

By publishing content through TutorTech, the Creator gives TutorTech a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence for as long as reasonably necessary to host, store, back up, reproduce, format, transcode, display, stream, deliver, preview, promote, moderate, protect and administer that content through TutorTech.

The licence also allows us to support purchases or subscriptions already made and includes technical copies, thumbnails, previews, listing information and reasonable promotional extracts.

TutorTech may process content for platform functionality, security, moderation, support, analytics, search, curriculum mapping, quality review, listing optimisation and platform improvement.

The licence may continue where reasonably necessary to support earlier purchases or subscriptions, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain records and protect TutorTech's legitimate interests.

What the standard licence does not include

The standard platform licence does not allow TutorTech to sublicense Tutor-created content to third-party AI models, LLM providers, external datasets, RAG/API providers or unrelated technology partners for model training or external commercial dataset use unless the Creator separately opts in or agrees separate written terms.

11. The Educator IP Programme

TutorTech may operate a separate Educator IP Programme through which eligible Tutors can choose to opt selected content into potential AI, LLM, dataset, RAG/API, curriculum-mapping or education-technology licensing opportunities.

Participation is optional and separate from ordinary Resource Hub, Course and Channel publication.

TutorTech will not include Tutor-created content in a revenue-generating third-party sublicensing opportunity under that programme unless the relevant Tutor has opted in or agreed the applicable separate terms. The Educator IP Programme Agreement and any programme notice explain the full rules, commercial terms and withdrawal rights.

12. AI-assisted content

Creators must disclose materially AI-assisted or AI-generated content where TutorTech requires disclosure.

The Creator remains responsible for checking accuracy, originality, age-appropriateness, curriculum relevance, rights issues and whether the content could mislead users. TutorTech may require additional review, labelling, correction or removal.

13. Live Q&A, comments and Educator interaction

Where a Channel or Course includes live Q&A, comments or other Educator interaction, this is educational support. It is not an emergency, medical, counselling or crisis service.

TutorTech may moderate or change the format where reasonably necessary for safety, privacy, quality or technical reasons.

• ·       Students should not share unnecessary personal information in Q&A, comments or community areas.
• ·       Communication involving under-18s must remain in TutorTech-approved channels.
• ·       Educators must not invite a child to personal messaging, social media or other off-platform communication.
• ·       TutorTech may remove comments, questions, content or users where safeguarding or conduct concerns arise.

14. Refunds, failed payments and chargebacks

Refunds, duplicate payments, failed payments, chargebacks and payment disputes are handled under the TutorTech Payment and Cancellation Policy and applicable law.

TutorTech may suspend access where a recurring payment fails, but we will not charge a new Channel subscription period after a valid cancellation has taken effect.

If a refund, reversal or chargeback properly relates to Creator-supplied content, TutorTech may reverse, withhold or deduct the corresponding Creator proceeds and related adjustments where permitted by law and the applicable commercial terms.

15. Safeguarding, conduct and moderation

The TutorTech Safeguarding Policy and User Code of Conduct apply to Resources, Courses, Channels, Q&A, comments and other interactions.

TutorTech may review, moderate, reject, edit listing metadata, suspend, hide, remove or restrict content or communication where reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law, investigate a complaint or enforce platform rules.

TutorTech is not required to pre-screen every item of Creator Content before publication.

16. Privacy and Creator analytics

TutorTech processes personal information in accordance with the Data Privacy Policy.

Educators may receive only the information reasonably needed to operate their product or feature. This may include subscriber counts, content views, completion or engagement indicators, revenue information or questions submitted through approved tools.

Educators must not use TutorTech user information for off-platform marketing, independent profiling of children, scraping, private mailing lists or another purpose that TutorTech has not authorised.

17. Copyright and infringement complaints

If you believe content on TutorTech infringes your rights, please follow the TutorTech Copyright and Intellectual Property Policy.

TutorTech may remove or disable content while a complaint is investigated and may restrict or terminate repeat infringers.

18. Ratings, reviews and feedback

TutorTech may allow users to leave ratings, reviews or feedback. Reviews must be genuine, fair and not abusive, defamatory, discriminatory or misleading.

TutorTech may remove or restrict reviews that breach platform rules or appear to have been manipulated.

19. Things you must not do

• ·       upload or distribute infringing, unlawful, unsafe or inappropriate content;
• ·       buy or access content in order to copy, scrape, resell or redistribute it unlawfully;
• ·       bypass TutorTech payments, subscriptions, access controls or platform fees;
• ·       create fake purchases or manipulate reviews, rankings or engagement;
• ·       use bots, scraping tools or other unauthorised automated access;
• ·       harass Creators, Customers, Students or other users;
• ·       misuse school, Student, Parent/Guardian, buyer or Tutor information;
• ·       use TutorTech content for unlawful, harmful or misleading purposes.

20. Suspension, withdrawal and discontinuation

TutorTech may suspend or terminate access to a product, Creator Feature or account where a user breaches these Terms or another TutorTech policy, creates safeguarding, legal, intellectual-property, payment, security or reputational risk, receives repeated substantiated complaints, misuses content or engages in fraudulent, misleading or abusive behaviour.

If a Creator wants to withdraw content that forms part of an active paid product, they must give TutorTech enough notice to protect existing Customer rights. TutorTech may preserve access to a prior version, provide replacement access or arrange another lawful remedy where required.

A paid product will not be materially reduced without any notice or remedy required by law. TutorTech may immediately suspend content for safeguarding, infringement, security or serious legal concerns.

21. Educational outcomes and liability

Resources, Courses and Channels are educational products. Unless a product description expressly says otherwise, the supplier does not guarantee a particular grade, exam result, admission decision or learning outcome.

This does not reduce the supplier's obligation to provide the product to the standard required by law.

Where TutorTech is not the supplier, the Creator or Tutor seller remains responsible for the content they create and supply. TutorTech does not guarantee that all Tutor-created content has been independently verified, that content will suit every Student or curriculum, or that platform access will always be uninterrupted.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or reduces a Customer's mandatory statutory rights.

22. Changes to these Terms

TutorTech may update these Terms for legal, regulatory, safeguarding, security, platform or product reasons. Material changes affecting an active paid product or subscription will be notified where required.

Material changes to an Educator's ongoing commercial or legal obligations may require renewed acceptance through the Tutor Agreement or Creator feature flow.

We will also update subscription processes when new statutory subscription-contract requirements come into force.

23. Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the law stated in the TutorTech Terms of Service, subject to mandatory consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
