Tutortech User Code of Conduct

Welcome to Tutortech! We're committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and productive learning environment for everyone. This User Code of Conduct ("Code") outlines the expected behaviour for all users of our Services (website, learning platform, mobile apps, etc.), including Affiliates, Customers (parents/guardians of Students or Students of age 18 years and over), Students, and Tutors. By using our Services, you agree to abide by the terms of this Code. 

This Code applies to all users of the Tutortech platform. Affiliates are also subject to the separate Affiliate Code of Conduct. 

 
1. Core Values 

Our community thrives on these core values: 

  • Respect: Treat all users with dignity and courtesy, regardless of background, beliefs, or experience level. 

  • Honesty: Be truthful and transparent in your interactions and activities on the platform. 

  • Integrity: Uphold high ethical standards and avoid any behaviour that could be considered dishonest or misleading. 

  • Collaboration: Work together to create a positive learning environment that fosters growth and success. 

 

2. Be Kind and Respectful 

  • Communication: Engage in professional and constructive communication. Avoid offensive language, insults, threats, or harassment. 

  • Diversity: Embrace our diverse community and avoid any form of discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or ability. 

  • Privacy: Respect the privacy of others. Do not share personal information about other users without their consent. 

 

3. Responsible Use of the Platform 

  • Content: Share only content that is relevant, appropriate, and aligned with our academic goals. Avoid posting illegal or offensive material. 

  • Intellectual Property: Respect the intellectual property rights of TutorTech and others. Do not share copyrighted materials without permission. 

  • Academic Integrity: Engage in honest learning practices. Cheating, plagiarism, or any form of academic dishonesty is strictly prohibited. 

 

4. Specific User Expectations 

a) Parents / Guardians: 

  • Provide accurate information about your Student's needs and learning goals. 

  • Supervise your Student's activity on the platform. 

  • Ensure timely payment for services rendered. 

b) Students: 

  • Be present, engaged, and respectful during lessons. 

  • Actively participate in learning activities and complete assignments diligently. 

  • Communicate effectively with your Tutor. 

  • Maintain a professional and appropriate online presence. 

c) Tutors: 

Tutors using the Tutortech platform must: 

  • Provide accurate, honest, and non-misleading descriptions of their services, qualifications, pricing, and availability. 

  • Deliver tutoring services in a professional and appropriate manner. 

  • Maintain up-to-date schedules and honour confirmed bookings. 

  • Not solicit or accept payments outside the Tutortech platform. 

  • Comply with all safeguarding obligations, regardless of independent contractor status. 

  • Avoid behaviour that could harm Students, Customers, or the reputation of Tutortech. 

 

5. Prohibited Activities 

The following activities are strictly forbidden: 

  • Hate speech, bullying, harassment, or threats. 

  • Sharing personal information about others without consent. 

  • Spam, unsolicited commercial messages, or advertising. 

  • Posting illegal or offensive content. 

  • Cheating, plagiarism, or academic dishonesty. 

  • Impersonating another user. 

  • Attempting to hack or disrupt the Services. 

  • Using the Services for any illegal or unauthorised purpose. 

  • Offering or accepting off-platform payments for tutoring services. 

  • Misrepresenting employment status or affiliation with Tutortech. 

 

6. Reporting Violations 

If you witness a violation of this Code of Conduct, please report it immediately through the following methods: 

  • Email: customer.service@tutortech.co.uk 

  • Contact form on our website 

  • Reporting feature within the platform (if available) 

We take all reported violations seriously and will investigate them thoroughly. 

 

7. Consequences of Violation 

Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, including: 

  • Warnings 

  • Account suspension or termination 

  • Reporting to law enforcement (in serious cases)

This User Code of Conduct complements other Tutortech policies, such as the Terms of Service, Data Privacy Policy, and Copyright Policy. These policies provide a more detailed framework for user behaviour, data privacy, and intellectual property rights. Familiarise yourself with all our policies to ensure a smooth and productive experience on Tutortech.
