GCSE English: Essential Context to Exceed

Passion, patience and perserverance: these are the three corner stones of my learning philosophy. I bring fun, humour and relatability to every session I run. I am a nut for context and helping students find what makes literature come alive. I have a PGCE in English and Drama, as well as a BA(Hons) Degree in English Literature and Creative Writing, both from excellent universities. I am experienced teaching in a grammar school, as well as an independent and a free school environment. I have taught English and Drama, and have a special ability to help students have lightbulb moments, and more importantly the joy in learning. I am experienced helping students gain confidence and creativity to access secondary, having worked with both 11+ and SATs students also. I guarantee that your child will love my lessons. I have been an examiner for AQA English Literature for 7 years, and I have formerly been an examiner for Edexcel English Language, so I have a cohesive understanding of the small differences between exam boards. I have taught all major exam boards as a teacher and tutor, including Cambridge IGCSE, AQA, CCEA, Edexcel, OCR. My lessons are characterised by their fun, their uniqueness and their creativity, with plenty of opportunities for collaboration, chances for students to share their own thoughts, and a willingness to listen and guide without a judgemental tone. I get the challenges of learning, and I am particularly experienced in helping students who struggle from anxiety and internalised pressure, having lived that existence myself!
