TutorTech Copyright and Intellectual Property Policy

This Policy explains how copyright and other intellectual-property rights work on TutorTech and what to do if you think content has been used without permission.

It applies to Resources, Courses, Channels, Q&A materials, Tutor profiles, TutorTech-created content and other material made available through the platform.

1. Who owns the content?

TutorTech content

TutorTech owns or licenses the website, software, branding and other TutorTech-created platform materials.

Tutor and Creator content

Tutors and Educator Creators normally keep ownership of the original content they create, unless a separate written agreement says otherwise.

What buyers receive

Buying or subscribing to content gives you a licence to use it in the way described by the product terms. It does not transfer copyright or ownership to you.

2. The licence Creators give TutorTech

When a Creator publishes content through TutorTech, they give TutorTech a non-exclusive licence to do the things reasonably needed to run the service. This includes hosting, storing, backing up, formatting, transcoding, displaying, streaming, delivering, previewing, promoting, moderating and protecting the content through TutorTech and supporting access that Customers have already paid for.

This standard platform licence does not allow TutorTech to sublicense Creator Content to third-party AI or LLM providers, external datasets or unrelated technology partners for model training or commercial dataset use. A separate opt-in or written programme agreement is required for that kind of use.

3. Content you must not upload, sell or share

Please make sure you have the rights you need before publishing anything through TutorTech.

Examples of content that must not be uploaded or distributed without permission include:

· copied worksheets, lesson plans or slides;
· textbook scans, paid resources or subscription-only material;
· exam papers, mark schemes or exam-board content that is not authorised for redistribution;
· images, audio or video for which you do not have the necessary rights;
· scraped web content or content copied from another platform;
· personal or confidential information without a lawful reason;
· AI-generated or AI-assisted material that infringes rights or falsely implies that it is original human-created work.

4. Creator responsibilities

By publishing or selling content, a Creator confirms that they own the relevant rights or have permission to use them, that the content is lawful and that they can grant TutorTech the platform licence described above.

We may ask for reasonable evidence of ownership, licence or permission if a concern is raised.

5. How you may use content you buy or access

The licence attached to a Resource, Course or Channel explains what you may do with it. Unless that licence expressly says otherwise:

· do not resell, redistribute or publicly share paid content;
· do not upload it to another platform or claim it as your own;
· do not remove copyright or attribution notices;
· do not share Channel credentials or use one subscription to give unauthorised access to other people;
· do not use TutorTech or Creator content to train AI systems, build datasets or create competing products unless you have an express licence to do so.

6. Reporting a copyright or IP concern

If you believe content on TutorTech infringes your copyright, trade mark or another intellectual-property right, email legal@tutortech.co.uk with the subject "Copyright / IP Complaint".

Please include enough information for us to understand and locate the issue:

· your name and contact details;
· the work or right you believe is protected;
· the TutorTech URL, listing or content concerned;
· why you believe the use is unauthorised;
· your authority to make the complaint, if you are acting for someone else;
· any supporting evidence you think will help.

7. What TutorTech may do

Depending on the circumstances, we may ask for more information, temporarily disable access, contact the uploader, request evidence of rights, investigate the issue and then restore, edit, restrict or remove the content.

We may act immediately where continued publication creates a significant legal, safeguarding or user risk.

8. If you think content was removed by mistake

If your content has been removed and you believe that was a mistake, contact legal@tutortech.co.uk and provide evidence showing why you own the content, have permission to use it or otherwise have a lawful right to publish it.

We will consider the information and decide whether the content should be restored.

9. Repeat infringement and misuse

TutorTech may restrict Creator tools or suspend or terminate accounts where there is repeated or serious infringement. Users must not submit knowingly false or abusive IP complaints.
