I constantly improve my teaching skills and subject knowledge through courses to offer an engaging and knowledge-filled lesson to my students. My classroom is a safe place for students to explore, question, learn and build their confidence in a subject. I love teaching and being able to positively influence everyone that enters my classroom.
I have 14 years teaching experience, specialising in SEN. I’m a dedicated primary tutor with a passion for making learning fun, engaging, and interactive. I believe that when children enjoy their lessons, they not only learn more effectively but also build confidence and a real love for learning. My tutoring approach is tailored to each child’s needs, combining clear teaching with creative activities that make sessions enjoyable and rewarding. Whether your child needs extra support or an extra challenge, I create lessons that are both structured and stimulating. Parents appreciate the structure and organisation I provide, while children enjoy the creativity and variety they bring to lessons. From shared documents to interactive whiteboards and fun digital activities, my sessions are designed to spark curiosity and keep students motivated. Above all, I want children to feel proud of what they achieve. My goal is to support their learning journey, build their confidence, and help them develop skills that will last a lifetime.
About Me Hi, I’m Jessica – a qualified Maths teacher (QTS), Edexcel GCSE Maths Examiner and Second in Faculty at a successful secondary school. I have over seven years of experience helping students develop confidence, improve their understanding and achieve their GCSE Maths goals. My career began as a specialist SEND Numeracy Teaching Assistant before qualifying as a teacher, giving me extensive experience supporting students of all abilities and learning needs. I now teach GCSE Maths every day and have an in-depth understanding of the Edexcel curriculum, exam requirements and the common misconceptions that prevent students from reaching their potential. I believe that every student can succeed in maths when it’s explained in the right way. My lessons are calm, encouraging and carefully structured to ensure students fully understand each topic before moving on. Rather than simply teaching students how to answer one question, I help them understand why methods work so they can confidently apply their knowledge to unfamiliar exam questions. Every lesson is tailored to the individual. Students receive clear explanations, guided practice, challenging exam-style questions, regular retrieval to strengthen long-term memory, and practical exam techniques that help maximise marks. I continually assess progress so lessons focus on the areas that will make the biggest difference. I specialise in supporting: • GCSE Maths (Edexcel Foundation & Higher) • Students aiming for a Grade 4 pass • Students striving for Grades 7–9 • Learners who have lost confidence in maths • Students with SEND who benefit from personalised teaching As an Edexcel examiner, I understand exactly how marks are awarded and the mistakes students commonly make. I use this knowledge to help students improve accuracy, develop effective exam technique and perform with confidence. Parents receive regular feedback on progress, and students benefit from high-quality resources and personalised support
I’m Dr Neri, a full-time professional and specialist mathematics tutor with over 9 years of experience helping students succeed in mathematics. I have a proven track record of delivering results for those who are struggling with the subject, and my strong work ethic is reflected in reviews by my previous students. My formal academic qualifications include: > PhD in Applied Mathematics, > MMath Mathematics (1st class honours), > A-Levels in Maths / Further Maths / Business Studies, and > 9 GCSEs (A*-C). I primarily teach mathematics at GCSE / IGCSE / A-Level / IB / SQA / Admissions Test / Undergraduate levels, but I also welcome and encourage requests in other contexts. I fully understand and relate to students who are struggling in mathematics. It is a subject which can be very computational / counter-intuitive -- but also extremely rewarding. As a GCSE student, I was behind in a class that wasn’t among the top sets in ability, and at one point my grades were below a pass. However, with focused effort and smart strategies, I managed to turn it around within a year and get grade A, and have become passionate with the subject ever since. At A-Level, I often felt behind my peers, and it took great effort for me to catch up and get my A* in Maths and B in Further Maths. Since starting my MMath degree at Loughborough University in 2016, I have deeply committed to helping students improve in a similar way to me, and I now tutor full-time using effective strategies. In lessons with my students, I identify key areas for improvement and take a structured path to bridge the skill gap for the student. That often means working through exam material and understanding where marks are gained or lost. I can also teach new topics from scratch and provide homework / feedback with ongoing, long-term lessons.
I'm an experienced maths teacher who has spent the last several years helping students build confidence and genuinely enjoy the subject. Over more than 3,000 hours of tutoring, I've worked with over 120 families across GCSE, IGCSE, 11+ and SATs, covering Maths, English and Science. My approach is simple. I meet each student where they are, work out exactly what's holding them back, and build a plan that closes those gaps quickly. Students I've taught have gone on to secure more than 25 grammar school offers, and it's common to see a jump of two to three full grades within a course of lessons over a year. I hold a Master's in Education, and I bring that academic grounding into every lesson, but I try never to let it get in the way of keeping things clear and approachable. Maths especially can feel intimidating when it's taught in a dry or rushed way, so I focus on breaking topics down step by step, checking understanding as we go rather than rushing through content. What you can expect from a lesson with me: patience, clear explanations, plenty of practice questions pitched at the right level, and honest feedback on progress. I want parents to see real, measurable improvement, and I want students to leave each session feeling like they actually understood something. Outside tutoring, I've spent time working in charity leadership and in corporate roles at L'Oréal and the University of York, which has shaped how I communicate with people of all ages and backgrounds. I've also lived and worked across Asia and the Middle East, which keeps me adaptable and used to working with all sorts of learners and families. If you're looking for someone who takes the pressure off exam prep while still getting real results, I'd love to help your child get there.

By combining compassion with structured learning, I help students develop both strong understanding and self-assurance in their abilities.

Passion, patience and perserverance: these are the three corner stones of my learning philosophy. I bring fun, humour and relatability to every session I run. I am a nut for context and helping students find what makes literature come alive. I have a PGCE in English and Drama, as well as a BA(Hons) Degree in English Literature and Creative Writing, both from excellent universities. I am experienced teaching in a grammar school, as well as an independent and a free school environment. I have taught English and Drama, and have a special ability to help students have lightbulb moments, and more importantly the joy in learning. I am experienced helping students gain confidence and creativity to access secondary, having worked with both 11+ and SATs students also. I guarantee that your child will love my lessons. I have been an examiner for AQA English Literature for 7 years, and I have formerly been an examiner for Edexcel English Language, so I have a cohesive understanding of the small differences between exam boards. I have taught all major exam boards as a teacher and tutor, including Cambridge IGCSE, AQA, CCEA, Edexcel, OCR. My lessons are characterised by their fun, their uniqueness and their creativity, with plenty of opportunities for collaboration, chances for students to share their own thoughts, and a willingness to listen and guide without a judgemental tone. I get the challenges of learning, and I am particularly experienced in helping students who struggle from anxiety and internalised pressure, having lived that existence myself! You won't find another tutor like me, I can guarantee it. Why not try and experience my lessons for yourself.
My name is Kirsty Anne Ledsham, and I am a passionate educator with over 20 years of teaching experience. Born in Stellenbosch, Cape Town, in 1982, I completed most of my schooling in Durban before matriculating in Johannesburg in 2000. After travelling abroad for a year, I returned to South Africa to study at the University of Johannesburg, where I earned a Bachelor of Education degree, majoring in Psychology and Education. My teaching career began at my former high school before I joined the African Leadership Academy, where I became involved in educational outreach programmes supporting underprivileged schools. I helped establish remedial literacy and numeracy programmes, contributed to fundraising initiatives for computer centres, and participated in community development projects in Muldersdrift. These experiences strengthened my belief that education has the power to transform lives and communities. From 2013 to 2021, I served as Head of the English and Art & Design Departments at Charter College International High School. I taught Cambridge IGCSE and AS Level English and Art while leading numerous extracurricular portfolios, including Public Speaking, the English Olympiad, fundraising, charity initiatives, school events, hockey, and the Matric Dance. I also managed the school's website and social media platforms. In December 2021, I joined Cambrilearn as Head of Languages before moving to my current position as an English teacher. Throughout my career, I have also taught CAPS English, Art and Culture, and Life Orientation, and I have been appointed Head of the English Department in my last three teaching positions. I believe learning should be engaging, meaningful, and enjoyable. My philosophy, "Learning through Laughter," reflects my commitment to creating classrooms where learners feel inspired, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential.
